My work currently seems to be revolving around using Alias Sketch! for 3D modeling as the core, then going to PhotoShop for special effects, tweaks, and compositing.

There also seems to be a trend toward putting 3D generated objects into photographic environments, and substituting 3D created models for real-world props which would be practically of logistically difficult to accomplish otherwise.

It's my experience that the current generation of hardware/software in the right hands is capable of accomplishing virtually anything which can be envisioned with spectacular results.
