With the Rocky Mountains as our backyard, Optic Nerve was founded on a deep appreciation for all things outdoor. We take pride in working with people and organizations that celebrate and empower the active outdoor community. There may be no better place to do so than the annual Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) Rendezvous Conference. This year the conference was held in our own stomping grounds in Denver, Colorado, so we made sure to take full advantage.
Rendezvous 2016 kicked off at the Westin hotel where we heard from some of the industry's most inspirational speakers. With their motivating words at the top of mind, we charged through the day with a rooftop happy hour, urban obstacle challenge, and reception at the statuesque REI store. The late afternoon sun basked this rooftop fiesta, creating the perfect excuse for everyone to rock their new Optic Nerve shades!
Day two had the conference attendees, including one of our own, Vice President Tom Fox, out on the trail partaking in intensive manual labor. Don't let Tom's winning selfie smile fool you, he meant business out there as he worked alongside nearly 100 industry volunteers to build a portion of a new access trail in the foothills.
The Optic Nerve team uses these recreational trails weekly, so we understand what this kind of dedication means to the local community. "Our appreciation goes out to Scott [pictured below] and the rest of the Jefferson County Open Space team for their hard work, dedication, and creativity out there," said Tom, with his telltale enthusiasm and passion as he debriefed the rest of the Optic Nerve crew on his day at the service project.
HUGE thank you to everyone who made this week a success and we look forward to next year's Rendezvous!
