SOS Outreach x Optic Nerve

This past Wednesday, June 3, 2026, we had the privilege of hosting an incredible group of kids from SOS Outreach right here at our headquarters for a site visit in their Career Development Program.

We pulled back the curtain and showed the kids different areas of our business, from logistics and warehouse management, customer support and experience, to brand management and marketing. As one of many site visits, we were happy to showcase the variety of opportunities available in the outdoor industry as these kids start to look towards developing their early careers.

Our core goal was to show these kids that a lifelong passion for the mountains can turn into a real, meaningful career path, and to remind them that they have the power to find their own path.

We've always believed that taking care of our community along the way is the only way to do business. We are incredibly proud to partner with organizations like SOS Outreach, making protective eyewear and outdoor career paths accessible to the next generation.

Who is SOS Outreach

SOS Outreach is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is "to change young lives, building character, and developing leadership through mentoring outdoors." Started in 1993, SOS Outreach uses outdoor-based mentorship to teach life skills to kids and teenagers.

What Does SOS Outreach Do?

SOS Outreach offers year-round programs that combine outdoor exploration, positive adult mentorship, skill development, and community service. These life-changing experiences inspire young individuals to foster belonging, overcome challenges, enhance mental well-being, and become strong leaders.

The SOS Outreach program has five main stages: Introductory, Mentor, Junior Mentor, Career Development, and Alumni.
