Forest Stewardship Council Certified Natural Wood
Our natural wood sunglass line is Forest Stewardship Council certified for material traceability and sustainability. Subbing natural wood temples for the standard plastic temples found in most sunglasses, we replace single-use plastic to reduce environmental impact. The frames feel incredibly light but don’t sacrifice an ounce of durability or UVA/UVB protection. Three unique frames built on best-selling styles offer style options for anyone looking to keep their eyes and our planet better protected.

Certified Global Recycled Plastic (GRS)
Starting in 2023, we introduced GRS plastics into a variety of our sunglasses as means to further our commitment to the planet and sustainability. GRS plastics feel almost indistinguishable from the virgin plastic we've been used to for years, but let you feel confident you're buying a product that reduces its overall carbon footprint.
Eco-Friendly Castor Bean Resin
All Optic Nerve Performance frames are made from the renewable G850 Nylon Castor Bean Resin. This blend of castor beans reduces the amount of virgin plastic in these sunglasses and adds a lovely feel to the frames.
TPU From Renewable Resources (BIO-TPU)
Designed with durability in mind, our goggle frames are derived from renewable thermoplastic polyurethane to keep you charging hard on the mountain regardless of the conditions.

Biodegradable Packaging
Did you know that Americans use 100 billion bags a year, which requires 12 million barrels of oil to manufacture? According to Waste Management, only 1 percent of these bags are returned for recycling. That means that the average family only recycles 15 bags a year; the rest end up in landfills or as litter. Ouch.
We realized our sunglass packaging was a part of the problem and acted quickly to make a change. Now, all our sunglass shipping in polybags are made from biodegradable or recyclable materials.

Our home is lucky enough to get 300 days of sunshine a year, so it seemed only natural to take advantage of Colorado's record UV rays! Our headquarters in Wheat Ridge, CO uses 10K photovoltaic solar panels for both our warehouse and corporate office spaces to help reduce our footprint & dependency on non-renewable resources.
But we don't stop there! We also buy carbon offsets, which helps reduce global greenhouse gas emissions and supports local Colorado wind farms in the process. From concept to completion, we are taking steps to make this planet a healthier planet, every single day.
