Frame Technology – Optic Nerve

Frame Technology

Optic Nerve's Product Developer and Co-Founder, Tom, is usually found spending days at a time in his laboratory working to find the perfect blend of function, fit, and style for each and every frame.

Here are some of the great features you’ll find with our sunglasses:

Tactile Rubber Components for Comfort and Adjustability

Tactile rubber reduces slipping and performs even when you’re active and sweating. This rubber compound is featured on nosepieces and temple tips of many of our action inspired styles

Adjustable Nose Pieces

Adjustable Nose Pieces are made of a bendable alloy wire core, so they can be customized to fit snugly on virtually any face shape. Tactile rubber encases the wire to help prevent the shades from slipping down your nose and offers improved security and comfort, even during extreme activity and perspiration. The added open space around the bridge also enhances air circulation to dramatically reduce fogging.

Adjustable Temple Tips

Adjustable temple tips are made with a malleable silver-nickel alloy core inside a tactile rubber compound. This fully adjustable feature offers a custom fit for a wide variety of face and head shapes as well as improved compatibility with helmets.

Nickel Silver Alloy

All of our wire/metal frames and components are constructed from nickel silver alloy. This alloy material offers a sleek, minimalistic style while delivering excellent durability and resilience.

Spring Temple Hinge

All of our wireframes feature quality line-less spring hinges that are durable, inconspicuous, and provide a secure spring-loaded fit that is resistant to stretching out.

Optical Rimlock

Optical Rimlock allows for easy insertion of prescription lenses into all of our Optic Nerve metal frame styles.
